About the Double Glazing Windows
Double glazing consists of at least two glass plates at a certain distance from each other airtight interconnected so that an insulating space between the glass and cavity occurs. Double glazing, including Large Secondary glazing, is used in windows of buildings to improve thermal insulation and soundproofing. In single glass will warm the air inside the glass cooling and condensation occurs under certain conditions on the glass when the temperature outside is lower. The double glazing windows glass allows the heat to the outside. With double glazing, the glass is duplicated with a layer of air or an inert gas between them. Because air is a high heat resistance has less heat is transferred.
The air in the gap – the cavity – should be as dry as possible, otherwise condensation would occur. This can be seen from a hazy appearance in the window or even water down the window. Heat transfer through the layer of air is by convection (the circulation of air inside the double glass) and radiation. By using heavier (noble) gases, the heat transfer by convection decreased. Also, the triple glazing are fitted with two air layers (with a thick layer of air would be too much air circulation occur). Today, double glazing between glass sheets by a hollow metal or aluminum tubing to make a double glazing.
The inner glazing is butyl. This is a highly elastic adhesive sealant to the glass and the spacer together. This kit is UV resistant. The sealant is composed of polysulfide or polyurethane, and aims to make the glass vapor tight, but not UV-resistant and should always be protected from solar radiation. The spacer is filled with a desiccant (molecular sieve or silica gel) that absorb water vapor from the cavity. This desiccant is saturated with moisture, then the window “leak” and goes on the cavity side cover. The window can no longer be repaired and must be replaced.
